Quilting

Needle & Thread

Please note that during the Covid-19 restrictions, in-person quilting work shops have been cancelled.  But, the ministry is continuing with sewers working from home.  If you would like to help make some of the several hundred baby quilts that Glenmont UMC donates each year, please contact us and we will be happy to get you the information that you need.
The rest of this page summarizes our non-Covid ministry.

The Quilting Ministry works to make baby quilts that are dedicated during worship in the fall each year, and then sent to children's hospitals or gifted to newborns in our community.  This has been an active ministry of our United Methodist Women for more than 25 years, and, 3,468 quilts later, it is still going strong!

The Needle & Thread Ministry puts all sorts of skills to use--sewing, knitting, crocheting, and more. This group gathers periodically to work on projects, including crafting pillowcases to send to the residents of the United Methodist Board of Child Care as Easter gifts.  To date, they have sent more than 200 pillowcases.
